Cleveland official tallied its hottest temperature in two
years when the mercury rose to 93 degrees yesterday.  This was only the second official occurrence of
90+ degree temperatures in Cleveland this year. Monday the high temperature made
a run at the mark but a lake breeze stop the rise one degree short. A weak cool
front moved through the area last night bringing much drier air into the region
as well as a nearly ten degree temperature drop. Not much rain accompanied the
front so lawns will continue to dry out and brown up.  Conditions will remain warm and dry through
the weekend before the next cold front approaches the area at the beginning of
the week. The heat will remained entrenched over the Southern Plains but will
also extend to the Southeast and to the Northwest at times.
Currently the area is experiencing warm, clear dry
conditions after the overnight frontal passage.  High temperatures today were in the middle eighties
(80’s) and will remain there through Monday.
A weak front will move through the area later Friday and
will carry a risk of a shower or thunderstorm. Conditions will dry out on
Saturday and temperatures will remain warm.
The next front of consequence moves through the region on
Monday.  It will bring a threat of
thunderstorms and will drop high temperatures into the middle to upper seventies
(70’s) for the middle of next week.
