The weather this Memorial Day Week will start out cool on
Friday but will warm each day as high temperatures rise through the 70’s. High pressure will remain in control for the
next four or five days keeping thunderstorms to the west and south of the
region. The region should be a washed in sunshine throughout the weekend with
the first chance of rain not arriving until late Monday into Tuesday.
Currently high pressure is control of weather providing cool and comfortable weather. An upper level low in the West is generating thunderstorms, at times severe, from Western Texas into Eastern Colorado. The Southeastern states are experiencing very warm temperatures with highs topping 90 degrees in many locations.
On Sunday the high pressure will be moving east of the region allowing warmer air to spread back in to the area with high temperatures well into the 70's. The thunderstorms will remain far to the west of the region.
On Tuesday a weak system will begin to affect the region bringing a chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. Temperatures will be warm with highs remaining near 80 degrees.
Looking ahead, it appears that summer has finally taken hold of most of the nation. Temperatures for the next 6-10 and even 8-14 days look to be above normal for most of the nation.
