The delightful weather that began over the weekend is
continuing this week with an increase in temperatures. Much of the region
experienced their first 80-degree day of the season on Monday ahead of a weak
cool front. The cool front brought temperatures down for Tuesday but they
remained above normal levels. Today temperatures have increased a few degrees
but a larger increase in temperatures is in store beginning tomorrow. A system moving into the central plains will generate several days of
severe weather before moving east over the weekend The system will move through the local region
early next week and temporary drop temperatures back to near normal levels
before above normal temperatures return later in the week.
Currently a stationary front is positioned through central Ohio separating
very warm air over the southern part of the state from slightly above normal
temperatures over the northern section of the state. High temperatures across
much of northern Ohio were in the seventies (70’s) today but they will surge
well into the 80’s on Thursday.
There is an enhanced chance for severe weather today from
Kansas south into Texas. All forms of severe weather is likely with a few
strong tornadoes also possible.
On Friday the area will remain in the warm sector with a
warm and moist flow out of the south. A weakening front will approach the area
from the west but it should stall to the north of the area on Saturday. This will allow high temperatures to be well
into the eighties (80’s) on both days. Severe weather will once again be
possible from Kansas south into Texas. Off the Carolina coast a subtropical system is
predicted to form and may begin affecting coastal areas with strong winds and high
waves.
Friday appears to be the first day of large multiple day severe weather event for the central portion of the country. Areas from Kansas south into Texas will be affected with the Red River Valley the focus for the most serve activity. All modes of severe weather will be likely including a few strong tornadoes.
On Saturday the main low pressure will move into the central portion of he country sparking a widespread severe weather outbreak. Severe storms will erupt from Nebraska south into Texas with Western Kansas south into North Central Texas the focus for the worst of the weather. All modes of severe weather are likely with several strong and long track tornadoes possible. This could be the largest severe weather event of the year!
On Sunday the main trough will begin to move out into the
Plain States. A severe weather outbreak will be ongoing but it does not appear to be as extreme as the previous days' activity. Residents should be on
alert for any dangerous weather conditions that may develop. The local area will remain in
the warm sector with high temperatures near eighty (80) degrees.
On Monday the entire system will move east and shift the
severe potential in the Ohio Valley. The extent of the severe weather is
uncertain at this time but it could be significant. High temperatures will be
remain near eighty (80) degrees.
Overnight Monday the system will move through the local area
allowing much cooler air to flow into the area. High temperatures on Tuesday
may only reach the upper 60’s which will feel very cool but will actually by
closer to typical season levels. This cool down will be temporary as above
normal temperatures will return to the area by the end of the week.
